I'm here!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I am safe and sound in Jamaica!! I have been here for a week now and this is my first chance to use the internet. The internet at The Nest is down so my friend Yogi let me come to her shop downtown and use her internet! She has been a life saver! The O'Dells come in on Monday so hopefully the internet will be fixed at The Nest very soon! I have many stories to tell! I don't have time right now but when I have internet at The Nest, I will definitely be sharing stories! I am adusting to the culture and temperature slowly but surely. I have had a few days of homesickness, but I am feeling good about being here. This is where God wants me so I am trusting that he will sustain me through the tough time of adjusting. Hopefully I will be able to write more soon! I appreciate all the emails and the messages on Facebook!! You are are such an encouragement to me!! Love you all!

8 days and counting...

My departure date is approaching very fast. I fly out September 4th from Detroit. I am getting very anxious to get to the Nest and get settled into my new routine. I have so much to do still. I am not packed yet. It is overwhelming to know what to pack for a 10 month stay in a climate you're not used to. Lots of shorts and tank tops! My support continues to come in on a daily basis. God is proving himself faithful. I am trusting him completely to provide for me financially this next year. I am looking forward to seeing his hand at work while I am in Jamaica. Please continue to keep me in your prayers. My next update will probably be from Jamaica!!

A New Adventure

For those of you who don't know, I am moving to Montego Bay, Jamaica in about 3 weeks. I will be teaching at Robin's Nest Children's Home for the next school year. I plan on keeping people posted on what is going on in Jamaica on this blog.
